Customer / Administrative Assistant


The Customer / Administrative Assistant serves as the first point of contact for the public and provides administrative support to the Chief Appraiser and appraisal district staff. Responsibilities include assisting property owners, answering phones, directing visitors, processing documents, maintaining records, scanning and importing data, handling mail and certified mail, data entry, filing, and supporting appraisal district operations.

This position requires excellent customer service, professionalism, strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with various office software and equipment. The employee also assists with public records, exemption verification, permit tracking, mobile home records, sales surveys, and other appraisal district related functions.

The Customer / Administrative Assistant helps maintain an organized and professional front office environment, assists in training new front desk staff, and performs additional duties as assigned by the Chief Appraiser.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (or comparable experience/training)
  • Strong organizational, clerical, and customer service skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with the public and staff
  • Ability to learn appraisal district software and meet deadlines

Work Schedule:

Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional overtime or weekend work as needed.

Reports To:

Chief Appraiser or designated supervisor.
